Summer Vacation

In June we had the opportunity to spend a week visiting with Brian's family.  We spent the week on a cruise that left from L.A. and had stops in Catalina and Ensanada.  Since it is not often that we get out of Alaska, we decided to head out a couple of days early and stay a couple of days late.  Before getting on the cruise, we met up with Kim, Chad, Kiersten, Nate, Cher, Cory, and Haylie and spent a couple of days in San Diego.  We spent the first day at the San Diego Zoo.  It was nice to be out in the sun and spend some time with family. Kara loved seeing her cousins, especially Nate-Man.

We spent our second day in San Diego at Sea World.  Brian and I have been wanting to go here ever since we got married and we had a blast!  We saw all kinds of animals, but my favorite thing was hand-feeding the sting rays.

We boarded the cruise ship the next day and were reunited with the rest of Brian's family.  Our first stop was in Catalina.  We rented golf carts and drove around the island.  When we got back to the ship, the girls enjoyed swimming and that evening we had fun dressing up for dinner.

Our second stop was in Ensanada.  We spent the day shopping...as you can see it was not Kara's favorite thing to do and Kassi enjoyed the towel animals we had in our room more than her time in Mexico.

I think that everyone had a fun time on the cruise and just spending time together.  A big thank you goes out to Jerry and Denise!
